Will Solana Rise in October 2026? Alpenglow, ETFs and the Fed

Will Solana rise in October 2026? SOL enters the month near $123 with Alpenglow due and record ETF inflows. The levels, catalysts and risks, with no price targets.

Solana goes into October 2026 with momentum. SOL traded near 123 dollars on 28 September, up about 17 percent over 30 days, and US spot Solana ETFs just had their biggest week since launch. October is also the month the network’s largest upgrade of the year is due.

Nobody can tell you where SOL will close the month, and any article that hands you a single number is guessing. What we can do is lay out what the market is watching and what would have to happen for the price to move either way. This is general information, not financial advice.

Where SOL stands going into October

SOL has climbed steadily since the summer. It traded in the mid-70s in August, started September near 103 dollars and was around 123 dollars by the end of the month, with a market cap of roughly 72 billion dollars, seventh among all cryptocurrencies.

Institutional money is a big part of that. US spot Solana ETFs took in a record 188 million dollars in net inflows in the week of 21 to 25 September, their 12th consecutive week of inflows, bringing the cumulative total to about 1.6 billion dollars.

What could move SOL in October

Alpenglow

Alpenglow was expected in September and slipped. The Solana Foundation now targets October 2026 with the Agave 4.3 release, without a fixed date. The upgrade replaces Solana’s current consensus mechanism and aims to cut finality, the point where a transaction can no longer be reversed, from about 12.8 seconds to around 150 milliseconds. That matters for exchanges, payments and anything else that needs certainty fast.

It can cut both ways for the price. A clean activation strengthens the case for Solana as the fast chain for trading and payments. Another delay, or problems after launch, would hurt sentiment. And some of the anticipation is probably priced in already, so even a smooth launch can turn into a “sell the news” moment.

ETF flows

Twelve weeks of inflows have given SOL a steady buyer. If they continue, that support stays in place. A switch to outflows would remove one of the main forces behind the September rally, and it would likely show up in the weekly flow data before it shows up in the price.

The Fed on 28 October

The Federal Reserve raised its target range by a quarter point in September, to 3.75 to 4 percent, citing elevated inflation. The next decision comes on 28 October at 2 pm Eastern time. Another hike or a hawkish tone usually weighs on crypto; a pause with softer language tends to help risk assets.

Bitcoin

SOL rarely moves on its own. It tends to follow Bitcoin’s direction and exaggerate it, so a sharp move in BTC during October would likely matter more for SOL than any Solana-specific news.

Levels traders are watching

These are reference points, not targets. The 127 to 130 dollar area sits just above the current price and is where several analysts see resistance. A sustained move above it would suggest buyers are still in control. The August highs around 107 to 110 dollars are the first support zone traders watch; losing them would give back most of September’s gain. Below that, 100 dollars is the round number the market tends to defend or break decisively.

The bull case and the bear case

For SOL to keep rising in October, several things would have to line up: Alpenglow activating on schedule without problems, ETF inflows continuing, no hawkish surprise from the Fed and Bitcoin holding its ground.

For SOL to fall, it would take less. Another Alpenglow delay, a turn in ETF flows, a second Fed hike or a Bitcoin sell-off could each trigger profit-taking after a 17 percent month. Assets that rallied hard tend to give back gains quickly when sentiment turns.

How to use this

Treat October as a month with known events and unknown outcomes. Mark the Fed decision on 28 October, watch for an Alpenglow activation date and check the weekly ETF flows. If you buy, size the position for a drop of 20 percent or more, which SOL has seen many times, and avoid buying only because last month went up.

If you trade SOL, BingX lists it on spot and futures. For how the September catalysts played out, see our September Solana outlook, and for the wider market, our September watchlist. Frequently asked questions

Will Solana go up in October 2026?

Nobody can know that. SOL enters October near 123 dollars after a strong September, and the month holds several events that could move it in either direction: the Alpenglow upgrade, the run of ETF inflows and the Fed decision on 28 October. This is general information, not financial advice.

What is the Solana price prediction for October 2026?

We don't publish price targets, because a single number for a volatile asset is a guess dressed up as analysis. Traders are watching the 127 to 130 dollar area as resistance, the August highs around 107 to 110 dollars as the first support zone, and 100 dollars as a round-number floor. These are reference points, not forecasts.

When does the Alpenglow upgrade go live?

It slipped from September and is now targeted for October 2026 with the Agave 4.3 release. There is no fixed date or block height, so another delay is possible. Alpenglow replaces Solana's consensus and aims to cut finality from about 12.8 seconds to around 150 milliseconds.

How do Solana ETFs affect the SOL price?

US spot Solana ETFs act as a steady buyer while money flows in. They took a record 188 million dollars in the week of 21 to 25 September, their 12th straight week of inflows. If those flows reverse, the market loses one of the main supports behind the September rally.

Where can I buy SOL?

SOL trades on all major exchanges. We use BingX, which lists SOL on spot and futures. If you buy, start with an amount you can afford to lose, and avoid buying just because the price rose last month.
