Robinhood Chain’s memecoin market took off in July 2026, and it revolves around two tools: Pons, the launchpad where most of the chain’s tokens are created, and trading terminals such as Axiom. You can trade without ever launching a token, and you can launch without a terminal, but most active traders end up using both.
The timing matters. Robinhood stops paying gas for Robinhood Wallet users on 29 September 2026, and from then on every transaction costs ETH. If you trade small amounts many times a day, that changes your math. This is general information, not financial advice.
Before you start
You need ETH on Robinhood Chain, a wallet and the right links.
ETH pays for gas and is the base currency for trading on the chain. If you hold no crypto yet, buy some on an exchange such as BingX first. From there you can bridge it to Robinhood Chain yourself, which our Robinhood Chain guide walks through step by step, or deposit it into Axiom and convert it to ETH on Robinhood Chain from the deposit menu.
Type the addresses yourself: axiom.trade for Axiom and ponsfamily.com for Pons. Copycat sites with similar names exist, and a fake trading terminal is one of the fastest ways to lose a wallet.
How to trade Robinhood Chain memecoins on Axiom
- Open Axiom through our referral link and sign up. The referral gives you a 10% discount on Axiom’s trading fees, which start at 1% per trade, and we earn a share of the fees you pay.
- Switch the chain to Robinhood Chain (HOOD) in the chain selector. Axiom runs Solana, BNB Chain, Ethereum and Robinhood Chain from the same interface.
- Fund the Robinhood Chain side with ETH, either by depositing ETH you bridged or by converting from another chain. Keep a little extra for gas.
- Find a token. The Pulse feed shows fresh launches, tokens close to graduating and tokens that already trade in a Uniswap pool. Search by contract address rather than ticker, because popular tickers get copied within minutes.
- Place the order. Market buys fill instantly. Limit orders and take-profit let you set your exit in advance, which matters on tokens that can double or halve in minutes. Check the slippage setting before you confirm.
- Decide where you sell before you buy. Memecoins rarely give you a second chance at the top.
What to check before you buy
- The contract address matches the one on the token’s Pons page, not just the name.
- How much of the supply the largest wallets hold. A handful of wallets with most of the supply can sell into you at any moment.
- Liquidity. On a thin pool, one mid-sized sell can knock the price down hard.
- Where the token is in its life. On the bonding curve, every buy moves the price up the curve. After graduation it trades in a Uniswap v4 pool with locked liquidity.
- The launch clock. For the first five seconds, Pons charges buyers a snipe tax that starts at 99%. Buy in the opening second and the tax can take most of your order.
How to launch your own token on Pons
Launching takes a few minutes and costs little. What happens next depends on whether anyone wants the token, and most launches never get far. These steps follow the official Pons v2 docs.
- Open ponsfamily.com/launchpad and connect a wallet that holds ETH on Robinhood Chain.
- Set the name, symbol, image, description and links.
- Choose the fee settings. Every launch has a standard trading fee, shared between Pons, you as the creator and an optional buyback, and you can add an optional creator tax on top. The split is fixed at creation and applies both before and after graduation.
- Review everything. The fee split cannot be changed later, and the name and symbol are written into the token contract, so a typo in the ticker stays forever.
- Pay the launch fee and gas. The app shows the fee before you confirm; it has been reported at around 0.0005 ETH.
What happens after launch
The whole supply of 1 billion tokens is minted straight to the bonding curve, with a fixed share held back from the start to seed the pool later. Nobody gets tokens set aside before trading opens, including you. If you want to hold your own token, you buy it from the curve like everyone else, and the snipe tax applies to any buy in the first five seconds.
Each buy pushes the price up the curve and each sell pulls it down. Once the curve has sold everything it was set to sell, the token graduates. Pons creates a Uniswap v4 pool from the reserved share and locks that liquidity permanently. There is no unlock, for you or anyone else.
As the creator, you earn your share of the trading fees on every trade, before and after graduation. The fees build up as a balance you can withdraw whenever you like from the Pons interface. Standard launches pay out in ETH.
A word on responsibility
Creating a token is technically trivial. Selling it to other people is where responsibility starts. Promising returns, hyping a token you plan to dump or posing as a team you are not can amount to fraud, and your wallet history stays public. If you launch, treat it as an experiment with your own money.
The risks
Most tokens launched on any launchpad lose nearly all their value. Pools on new tokens are thin, so exits get expensive quickly, and copycats with the same ticker show up within minutes of anything popular. Gas stops being free for Robinhood Wallet users on 29 September, which makes lots of small trades costlier. Terminals and launchpads are software, and software has bugs.

Pons, Pump.fun and one account for both
Pons is not the only launchpad. On Solana the incumbent is Pump.fun, and the two differ on fees, curves and audience; our Pons vs Pump.fun breakdown compares them side by side. Axiom covers both chains from one account, so you can trade either without switching tools. This is general information, not financial advice.
Frequently asked questions
Can I trade Robinhood Chain memecoins on Axiom?
Yes. Axiom added Robinhood Chain in July 2026, and you can pick it in the chain selector next to Solana, BNB Chain and Ethereum. Trades on the chain settle in ETH, and tools such as limit orders and take-profit work there too. Signing up through a referral link, including ours, gives you a 10% discount on Axiom's trading fees. This is general information, not financial advice.
How do I create a meme token on Pons?
Open ponsfamily.com/launchpad, connect a wallet holding ETH on Robinhood Chain, then set the name, symbol, image, description, links and fee settings. Check everything before you confirm, because the fee split is fixed for the life of the token and the name and symbol are written into the contract. Pay the launch fee plus gas, and the token goes live on a bonding curve with its full supply of 1 billion.
How much does it cost to launch a token on Pons?
The app shows the launch fee before you confirm, and it has been reported at around 0.0005 ETH. You also pay gas in ETH. Robinhood stops covering gas for Robinhood Wallet users on 29 September 2026; after that you pay it yourself, usually a few cents per transaction on Robinhood Chain.
What is the snipe tax on Pons?
It is an anti-bot tax on buys in the first five seconds after a launch. According to the Pons docs, it starts at 99% of a buy and decays to zero over those five seconds, sitting near 25% after one second and around 3% after two. Sells are never taxed by it, so buying in the opening moments is expensive by design.
What happens when a Pons token graduates?
When the bonding curve has sold everything it was set to sell, the token graduates: Pons creates a Uniswap v4 pool and locks its liquidity permanently. That rules out one type of rug pull, pulling the pool, but it does not stop the price from collapsing if holders sell.
Are Robinhood Chain memecoins safe?
No. Most launchpad tokens lose nearly all their value, pools on new tokens are thin, and copycat tokens appear quickly. Treat any trade as speculation with money you can afford to lose in full. This is general information, not financial advice.
